MB-12 Caliber Polishing Powder FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY!

An amazing polishing compound designed to be used wet to dry in the polishing process. This product produces a very high gloss (often higher than from the factory). MB-12 works great on Marble, Limestone, Travertine, Serpentine (Green Marble), Onyx, Ophicalcite, Terrazzo and more. Also works great as a cleaning agent and for removing coatings or sealers from granite surfaces!!

Available in the following sizes: 1 lb, 2 lb, 8 lb and 25 lbs. All powders are packed by weight and not by volume.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: (The following are guideline directions. Different stones may require different techniques. If in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us at (888) 509-5831.)

Prepare your surface for polishing by completing the honing process, to the highest clarity possible for best results.

Mask/Protect surfaces that could potentially be damaged by splatters with proper masking material.

COUNTERTOPS: Target an area of approximately 2 - 3 sq. ft. Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of MB-12 on the surface to be polished in a circular pattern, slightly smaller than the polishing pad to be used. Using a spray bottle, add enough water to the powder to soak the powder. Use a white polishing pad with a right-angle grinder/polisher (variable speed is a MUST). Set the speed to low. Place pad on top of powder mixture. While controlling the speed with the trigger and applying as much pressure as the machine can take, start spreading the slurry over the targeted area, keeping a very low RPM, until it’s almost dry. Pull the trigger all the way while gradually lightening the pressure and buff to a shine while moving the machine swiftly over the targeted area. Remove any streaking with a clean dry white pad and a mist of water.

FLOORS: Target an area of approximately 10 – 12 sq. ft. and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of MB-12 in the center of area in a circular pattern slightly smaller than the diameter of the floor machine. Using a spray bottle, add enough water to the powder to soak the powder. Using a hog’s hair pad and a floor machine with at least 1.5 hp and not exceeding 175 RPM, swiftly swing the machine side to side over target area to evenly spread the product slurry. Then polish slowly with a spiral motion, moving from one end of the targeted area to the other and back until the slurry is dry and the stone surface becomes shiny. The first area will probably need to be done a couple of times for proper pad build-up. We suggest not exceeding approx. 100 sq. ft. with one side of the pad. After that, flip the pad over and go another 100 sq. ft. or so (hogs hair pads can be hosed off a couple of times and reused, before disposal.) Remove any streaking with a clean dry hogs hair pad and a mist of water.

NOTICE: The directions above are average. Different stones may require more or less powder and/or water; a faster or slower pace, according with their inner physical and chemical characteristics. This product can be considered as universal as they come, but it’s no substitute for professionalism.

COVERAGE: Depending on the type of stone, expect coverage of approximately 500 to 1,000 sq. ft. per pound.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Marble Polishing Powder

Do you have more questions about our MB-12 marble polishing powder? We answer some of your most-asked questions in the section below. Keep in mind that this product is a hot polishing compound and requires professional experience.

This will vary depending on the foot traffic your floors receive and your maintenance habits.

Our marble polishing powder has been specially designed to be used on marble countertop and floor surfaces. It is suitable for marble, travertine, limestone, and other calcite-based stone and can be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces.

If you're unsure whether our marble polishing powder will work on a particular surface, you can call us at (888) 509-5831, and one of our representatives will gladly answer any questions.

Yes! We understand that homeowners want their natural stone surfaces to look good for longer. This is why we recommend polishing calcite-based stones regularly to ensure they are resistant to stains. Polished stones are more resistant to staining because they have tighter surface tension.

However, it is important to remember that exposure to acidic substances could cause stone surfaces to deteriorate faster and cause etch marks.

MB-12 Caliber Polishing Powder is a highly potent polishing compound designed to be used wet-to-dry. Very little product is used compared to traditional polishing compounds. It starts out slightly wet and is worked until it is completely dry.

You can use this powder to polish and restore calcite-based stone surfaces. We have designed our product to give the application area a glossy and lustrous appearance.

Because marble polishing powder contains very small abrasive particles, buffing is the best method for applying it to produce a high gloss.

Moreover, the components in these powders are not soluble in water. This means that adding water won't cause the polish to disintegrate, which will also help make your marble surface more resistant to stains.

In addition to marble surfaces, you can also use this polishing powder on limestone, travertine, serpentine, and terrazzo surfaces.

Our marble polishing powder has been specially designed with abrasive particles that make polishing your natural stones faster. It also offers a lustrous shine that will make your floors look and feel great.

Moreover, MB-12 marble polishing powder requires just one application unless your surface has many marble etch marks. Our product doesn't just save you time, but it also saves you money because it is the most affordable way to polish stone countertops and floors.

You can also expect faster polishing, faster job completion, and less cleanup!

Follow these steps to get your floors glossy with MB Stone marble polishing powder:

  1. Choose a spot 10 to 12 square feet in size and scatter one tablespoon of MB Stone Polish in a circular pattern that is just smaller in diameter than your floor machine.
  2. Pour some water into a spray bottle to completely cover the powder, creating a wet paste consistency.
  3. Distribute the product across the targeted area using a floor machine and hog's hair pad.
  4. Once the sludge is dry and the marble surface is shining, carefully polish the targeted area in a circular motion. We advise limiting the size of the pad to no more than about 100 square feet on one side.
  5. After that, turn the pad over and cover another around 100 square feet.
  6. Carefully remove any streaking using a clean and dry hog's hair pad and a spritz of water.

While a tablespoon of our marble polishing powder is generally sufficient for most applications, you may require more product or more water to get the right consistency, so if you aren't getting the results you expected, try changing the consistency of the paste or using more of it.

Another reason the marble polish isn't producing the results you're after is that you have applied too much product to the area. This makes it a lot harder to polish the area effectively.

Try using less product - you can always repeat the process with more polish if needed.

Like other specialty abrasives, you may need to polish your surface with MB-12 Marble Polishing Powder at a faster or slower pace. This will depend on the type of stone you're dealing with.

Suppose you still haven't found answers. In that case, you can contact our customer support at 1-888-509-5831 for help. Send us some photos, and let us guide you, as there could be a variety of ways to help.

Absolutely. Our hog's hair pads are made from premium materials and can be cleaned a few times with water and reused. If you need a new pad, simply browse the products on our website to find affordable replacement pads.

One of the common questions customers with marble and other calcite-based stone floors ask is whether polished marble is slippery. After all, this could pose a safety risk.

The good news is that using our product to remove etch marks won't make your floors slippery. However, they may become slippery when wet, so you'll need to carefully wipe away spills and allow the area to dry after cleaning it with water.

Calcium carbonate, a constituent of marble, interacts aggressively with any acidic substance. Consequently, when acids come into contact with marble etch marks, light, dull spots are produced almost immediately.

Since the acid effectively dissolves a portion of the marble's top surface when it interacts with it, etch marks often appear as faint, dull marks. Moreover, the marble beneath the surface is revealed when a portion dissolves.

Due to the newly exposed marble's lack of shine, it appears drab in contrast to its beautifully polished surroundings.

The good news is that you can restore your floor's luster and remove etch marks and light scratches effectively with our marble polish.

No, this product is designed to require minimal product application to produce a pristine polish. You will not need a large quantity if you only have a small marble countertop. However, keep in mind that you can save by buying this product in bulk.

Yes. The stone needs to be honed to the highest caliber first before it can be polished. This involves polishing it with gritty abrasives to produce a flat, consistent surface. If you require more information about the honing process, please get in touch with us.

By adding water to create a paste, you'll help our polish get to work on scratches. That's because water allows the abrasive grains in the polish to move more freely, which makes the polishing process more effective. Keep in mind that you can use a dry polish, but creating a wet mixture is recommended to achieve the best possible outcome.

This polishing powder is an eye and skin irritant, so be careful not to get it on your skin or in your eyes. We recommend wearing gloves and safety glasses when polishing natural stones with this product and washing your hands thoroughly after use.

If it gets into your eyes or causes skin irritation, rinse thoroughly and seek medical attention. You can read more about the safety of MB-12 Caliber Polishing Powder in the SDS.

You can use a floor machine (heavy-duty rotary buffer with 2.5 hp or more) or a rotary polisher with variable speed, not an angle grinder or orbital), depending on the area to be covered.

If you're polishing an entire floor, you will need a floor machine, as using a rotary polisher could take a long time. However, these two devices are ideal for countertops and spot polishing.
