MB ZERO+ Marble Polishing Powder

MB ZERO+ Marble Polishing Powder is designed to deliver outstanding results, providing a superior clarity and shine. This easy-to-use powder is less aggressive than most polishing powders and allows you to polish to a high gloss.

MB Zero+ is a specially formulated, unique powder for all calcite-based stones, creating a tremendously high shine without the use of oxalic acid. It is finely milled to a talc-like consistency, making it more effective than traditional powders, especially on sensitive or hard-to-polish stones such as white, black, and brown marbles, as well as serpentines.

Key Features of MB ZERO+ Marble Polishing Powder

  • Produces superior clarity and shine.
  • Less abrasive compared to traditional polishing powders.
  • Suitable for various calcite-based stones including marble and serpentines.
  • No oxalic acid ensures a safer application without compromising the results.
  • Milled to a very fine talc consistency for better performance.

Coverage

Depending on the type of stone, you can expect coverage of approximately 125 to 200 sq ft per pound. This coverage may vary based on the specific stone type and condition.

Directions for Use

Surface Preparation

Ensure the surface is free of coatings, waxes, sealers, grease, and soil. If honing is required, use quality diamonds and hone the surface correctly based on the clarity of the stone.

Application

Use approximately 1 teaspoon per 2-3 sq ft for counters or 2 ozs per 10-12 sq ft for floors. Add enough water to create a wet paste, thick enough to avoid splattering.

Apply the paste in the center of the target area.

Polishing Counters

Add water to the paste on the counter. Place your machine with a hog’s hair or white pad directly on top.

Spread the product slowly over the area using light, even pressure.

Run the machine on a slow setting for about a minute per sq ft.

Polishing Floors

Add water by dropping for about 5 seconds. Run the machine over the area for approximately 3-4 minutes per 10-12 sq ft.

Final Touches

Check the results and repeat if needed. For more luster, run the machine for another minute. For counters, you can also run the powder from wet to dry for enhanced results.

Safety Precautions

  • Always wear safety glasses and gloves.
  • Ensure proper masking of the work area to protect surfaces from splatters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Using this product requires more than just an application with a damp sponge. In the section below, we answer some common questions about MB Zero+ Marble Polishing Powder.

Oxalic acid is an organic acid used to aid in the polishing process of MLT. It is not bad for marble when used correctly and in precise amounts. If you need more information about this acid, contact us, and we will gladly answer any questions you may have.

Having or being a trained professional is definitely an important part of polishing marble surfaces. There are some instances where DIY options may be used.

We recommend that you contact us before attempting to use our MB Zero+ Marble Polishing Powder without any prior experience.

Yes, you would need something like our white polish pads or hogs hair pads. However, the most efficient process would be to use diamond abrasive pads to prepare the surface for the best polish when using MB-zero. (Diamond Abrasives are NOT recommended as a DIY option for homeowners or untrained professionals. To learn more about our training options, visit mbstonetraining.com)

Yes, a polishing machine is important to polish marble with our marble polishing powder. You would need something mechanical with proper RPM and amps to polish marble countertops and floors in addition to our MB Zero+ Marble Polishing Powder.

The truth is that polished marble countertops and floors can be slick if dusty or wet. However, a dry polished marble surface should not be excessively slippery when maintained properly.

We recommend keeping the marble dry to lower the risk of slipping on a marble floor. Although homeowners should take note of the maintenance and care instructions provided by the marble manufacturer, it's important to note that these companies seldom give reliable advice.

Polished marble has high gloss and a high depth of clarity. On the other hand, a honed finish has a more muted satin or matte look with little to no reflection.

Honed marble is ideal for floors. That's because a marble floor that has been honed is less slick than polished marble. Additionally, some homeowners like honed marble for their counters because it conceals etching better than a glossy surface and makes etching less noticeable.

However, polished marble is frequently used for table inlays or kitchen surfaces. This finish, which is less porous, won't discolor as quickly as honed marble may and doesn't require as many applications of marble sealer. In addition, its shine provides a semi-reflective surface which is both elegant and helpful in expanding the appearance of a small kitchen.

Like any chemical polishing or cleaning agent, it is important to take certain precautions when working with MB Zero+ Marble Polishing Powder.

When you polish marble with our marble polish, we recommend wearing latex gloves and a dust mask to protect your hands and avoid breathing in any airborne dust. Also, it is advisable to mask the area you are working on to prevent damage to surrounding areas and prevent major cleanup once the job has been completed.

No. Our marble polishing powder has been designed to be used with a polishing machine and a hog's hair or white pad. If you have not used a marble polishing powder before, please talk to us!

Moreover, if you're looking for a product to do a quick touch-up, we recommend MB-11 Touch-up Etch Remover. This product works well for light etching on lighter marble.

Although baking soda is often recommended for cleaning marble, we advise against it because frequent use could dull your marble surface instead of bringing out its natural beauty. You can use MB-1 Floor Amore One Step Cleaner instead for better results.

Marble polishing powder is easy to use. Follow the steps below to polish your marble with MB Zero+.

  1. Prepare the surface by ensuring that it is free of wax, oil, dirt, and soil and honing it using quality diamonds.
  2. Use a teaspoon of the powder for every two to three square feet for counters and two ounces for 10 to 12 square feet and make a paste using water.
  3. Place the paste in the middle of the target area and add water before polishing the area using a floor machine or polishing machine with a hog's hair and a polishing pad.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Our marble polishing powder is not intended to be used every day. Between treatments, you will need to ensure that you do not use harsh chemicals on your polished marble. Doing so could etch or remove the polish, which will leave you with dull spots.

Use a pH-neutral cleaner like MB-5 Stone & More Multi Surface Cleaner to remove spills, dirt, etc., as needed.

Your marble surface will have to be sealed for optimum protection. We recommend MB-21 Enhance and MB-24 Barrier Impregnating Sealer for at-home use. Talk to us if you need more information on sealing your marble floors and countertops.
